What it means and when your payout arrives.
Your money isn't lost.
"Payout not available" almost always means one or more legs of your combo hasn't fully settled yet — not that you lost. Kalshi settles legs individually. The combined payout appears only after all legs complete their resolution window.
A Kalshi combo moves through these states from placement to payout.

Before contacting support: Screenshot the combo detail, each leg's status, and your account balance. Support resolves issues faster with this information.
"Not Available" means you lost your combo
"Not Available" is a settlement timing state, not a loss indicator. Your position is being processed.
The platform is broken or experiencing an outage
Temporary delays during high-volume events are expected and normal. Check status.kalshi.com for actual platform issues.
"Not Available" is the same as a disputed resolution
Disputed resolutions have their own separate process. 'Not Available' means settlement is in progress, not that a resolution is contested.
Settlement mechanics described on this page are based on Kalshi's official help center and CFTC DCM rulebook general framework. Settlement timing varies by event type and contract rules. Confirm current details at kalshi.com/help.
